- LEDs can last up to 80,000 hours. Halogen light bulbs only last between 2,000 and 6,000 hours
- Only around 10% of the energy that goes in to a Halogen bulb is actually converted to light, the rest is given off as heat
- Since there's no toxic mercury in an LED, they're also easier and cheaper to dispose of than CFLs
So how can YOU take advantage of LED Lighting?!?.
- Replacement of incandescent light bulbs with new LED light bulbs. The result is longer life and less energy used. This type of system has high voltage wiring to each of the light fixtures. This option can be completed by the home owner.
- LED Fixtures that are powered with high voltage wiring. LED light fixtures will have a transformer that converts power from 120 VAC down to 12 VDC required to power the LED. This method can be completed either during construction or during remodel or you can have this completed as a single project. This is the option most residential electricians use in today's construction.
- Commercial lighting consumes 19% of U.S. electricity (slide). Our LED lighting solution reduces that by 85% or more over traditional sources.
- Our driverless LED fixtures eliminate waste inside each bulb and are more likely to reach the end of their 50,000-hour lifespan.
- We provide centralized low-voltage power distribution for dozens of LED fixtures up to 200 ft. from the driver.
- 50,000-hour fixtures mean less waste (and less maintenance).
- Low power use means less heat output, lower HVAC costs.
- We use safe, simple, speaker wire rather than heavy gauge wiring that also requires MC cable or electrical conduit.
- LEDs eliminate the mercury waste of their predecessors.
